What an unexpected blessing! Do you like surprises? God is full of surprises; He always comes to us in unexpected ways. We should always trust in God, wait patiently for His perfect timing, and know that He cares about everything that concerns us and will work faithfully on our behalf.
God tells us to "let not our hearts be troubled" about anything. (John 14:1) Whenever we are troubled about a situation, have faith in God; fast and pray to God to work out everything according to His will. As we wait on His divine solution to our problems, He strengthens our faith and draws us closer to Him. Also, during this time of waiting, He teaches us how to trust Him in tremendous avenues. Remember, God's Spirit lives within us to empower us, to teach us, to counsel us, and to motivate us to step out on faith to carry out His plan. "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." (Philippians 4:13)
Our Heavenly Father is our refuge and strength during our times of trouble. (Psalm 46:1) Sometimes due to lack of faith, we do not trust God with our problems. Consequently, we suffer unnecessarily and limit God's help. We must learn to trust God for all things, regardless of how small or large it is. "He will never fail us." (Deuteronomy 31:6) "Is there anything too hard for God?" (Jeremiah 32:27)
When we face hardships, God is with us as our Victor. He is in control of all things, so "if God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31) God inquires, "Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?" (Jeremiah 23:23) This is a great consolation knowing that He will never leave us nor forsake us. In times of trouble, we must have faith in God and expect Him to help us according to His perfect timing.
Throughout this year, I have been fasting for total debt freedom. Today, God did the unexpected. I called one of my creditors to determine my payoff balance. Surprisingly, when my account was checked, I was told that my balance was ZERO. The last payment for this account would have been December 2010. What a huge savings! God is miraculously eliminating my debts! Praise the Lord! God is our Provider. "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." (Ephesians 3:20)
